How to grow avocado plant indoors?

If you like the idea of growing your own avocado from fruit you buy at the supermarket, there are several ways to do it. In any case, the first step is to remove the seeds as gently as possible and wash the pieces of fruit sticking to it with warm water.
1. Use a toothpick

The most popular method of sprouting a new plant from this seed is to pierce it with a toothpick. First, look at the seed to understand which end goes up. Roots grow from the bottom of the seed. The lower end is flatter, while the upper end is slightly more pointed. The way the seed is arranged inside the fruit gives you a good clue about the top and bottom. The upper part is near the stem end of the fruit. Once you’ve fixed the bottom and top issues, insert three to four toothpicks into the outer edges of the core. These toothpicks should be such that you can soak your seed in a glass of water. Place it slightly facing down. Change the water once a week.
When it reaches a height of about 30 cm, you can cut it back to 15 cm to make it more bushy instead of long and spindly.
How long does it take for an avocado fruit to grow?
If you are keen on making fruit, you should know that plants can take ten years to bear fruit, and most of those grown from seed as houseplants will not live that long. However, when the plant is mature and taller than a meter, you should encourage them to bloom by scratching the surface of the stem bark or stem with the knife.
If it blooms later, the fruit needs pollination, so it can take advantage of the pot placed outside in a sunny spot to attract insects during the day. The fruit can take over a year to develop from the flowers and should be left on the tree until the bark turns purple and then harvested to mature.
